Reading to your children is one of the most important things you can do for their development, reading together is a wonderful way to help them learn new words and improve their vocabulary while also sharing fun stories.
Reading gives children an opportunity to learn themselves, it helps develop their imagination, strengthens their problem solving skills and develops deeper understanding of things around them. Reading also allows children to connect with the world around them through books that have been written by others who have experienced similar things.
Reading makes children smarter, reading to your child is one of the most important things you can do as a parent, this activity can shape their future and give them a sense of purpose. By reading picture books with your child, they will learn how to see the world through different eyes than yours and even if they don’t understand everything in the book they will still absorb some of what they read.
A good book can help teach children about different cultures and traditions in our world today, it helps children develop their own values.
HOW TO GET YOUR KIDS TO READ
There are so many different ways to get children to be children
· Be enthusiastic and expressive when you are reading, even if it’s the 100th time
· Reading can happen anywhere, let your child see you reading for pleasure too.
· Find a book that will hold your child’s interest, its not always easy but it does get easier.
· Help your child discover new words as they read, take them through an adventurous journey to tickle their imagination.
· Be patient with them.
Parents should come up with interesting ideas to nurture the love of reading in infant, creating a bedtime story routine does not need to be complicated, come up with reading goals that will make a difference in your child’s vocabulary and general knowledge one thing I do know is that reading is am empowering activity and I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
